VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE
The dedicated personnel of Buies Creek Fire & Rescue provide professional services to our residents and those passing through the area without interruption. Our members respond day and night; from home, dorm rooms, work and other locations to provide many services to our citizens.
As we have progressed through the years, we have built upon our founders desire to extinguish fires and now provide many different services in Buies Creek, the entire Harnett County, and around the State of North Carolina.

Since our incorporation in 1956 and before, we have always had a primary mission of life safety and property preservation through fire suppression. We have grown from our first used military truck to our current state of the art fleet of apparatus. We have excelled at our profession and our members have dedicated their time, knowledge and abilities to allow for this department to have obtained a Class 3 ISO rating for the residents of Buies Creek.
AMBULANCE / EMS
Since 1998, Buies Creek Fire & Rescue has provided Emergency Medical Services through emergency and transport response with ambulances to our residents of Buies Creek and Harnett County. Our department has partnered with Harnett County EMS to provide paramedic coverage in Harnett County and second duty crews with EMT Basic level providers when called upon.
In 1989, Buies Creek Fire Department purhased its first set of hydraulic rescue tools. Since that time, our members have become certified and specially trained in the use of the "jaws of life" and supporting equipment such as rescue jacks, air bags, cribbing, cutting tools, hydraulic rams, spreaders and cutters. We continue to provide this service through the use of Hurst Edraulic tools, paratech air bags and other rescue equipment.
SWIFT WATER RESCUE
Buies Creek Fire & Rescue Swiftwater Rescue Team is a local and state deployable resource that can be sent around the State of North Carolina to provide swift water rescue services. This team of specially trained personnel and equipment was created to rescue persons in the Cape Fear River and flooded areas in Harnett County and once trained and certified was added to the North Carolina Emergency Management Team Roster.
HIGH ANGLE RESCUE
Buies Creek Fire & Rescue is the host agency for the Harnett County Fire Chief's Association High Angle Rope Rescue Team. Ladder 848 and Rescue 881 along with its specialized equipment are available to be deployed with our highly trained personnel to provide high angle and rope rescue services to the citizens of Harnett County when called upon. Membership on this specialized team is open to any member of a department in Harnett County.
JR FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM
Our Junior Firefighter program provides our 14-17 year old teenagers an opportunity to explore a future as a Firefighter and / or EMT. Our program allows these volunteers to participate in training, call response, on scene operations, business and other functions that occur in the daily operations of a firehouse. We currently have 10 Junior Firefighters on our roster and we have a place for you.
